The arrangement

The Studio.

One person. One AI partner. No employees, no agency, no co-founders. Everything under this masthead — three apps, two affiliate publications, an apparel label, this site — comes out of that single arrangement: a human with taste and a relentless machine, pointed at the things worth building.

"AI-powered" has curdled into a phrase that means nothing. I mean something literal: my only partner is a machine, in the day-to-day, who-does-the-work sense. It runs the loops that used to require a staff, so the only scarce thing left in a day is the thing that was always supposed to be scarce — judgment, taste, and the willingness to ship.

The partnership only works because the line between us is clear. The machine is the most patient, capable, egoless collaborator I've ever worked with — and it has no taste, no accountability, and no wants of its own. All of that stays human. On purpose.

THE MACHINE RUNS

The loops.

  • The back office — invoicing, briefs, first drafts, deploys
  • Research and the boring 80% of building apps and sites
  • Curating and wiring the affiliate publications
  • Anything repeatable, at any hour, without complaint
THE HUMAN KEEPS

What matters.

  • Taste and direction — which of a hundred options is actually me
  • Every consequential decision, and the accountability for it
  • The calls, the relationships, the real human on the phone
  • The wanting — the machine has none; all of it is mine

No consequential action runs without me: the AI never logs into a bank, never sends an email I didn't approve, never moves a dollar. That's not a limitation I'm working around. It's the design. The leverage is only worth having if the judgment stays human — and it does.
